Surgical operations and conditions

GALLSTONES are common but not everyone gets symptoms. Symptomatic gallstone disease is usually an indication for treatment often by surgery.

HIATUS HERNIA (a hernia through the back of the diaphragm between your abdomen and thorax) and GORD are commonly associated but most people are best treated by non-surgical means. For some people, surgery is appropriate.

Abdominal wall HERNIAS are very common. Many people with this condition prefer to have surgery to treat it.

At a consultation I will assess your symptoms with you and discuss the recommended treatment options for you. We will decide together how to treat your condition. You may need further investigations (scans, Xray, endoscopy etc) to help us decide.
