I am a General Surgeon. In the UK this term means that I manage conditions mainly affecting the abdomen and emergency surgical admissions to hospital.
My surgical specialisation is in the investigation and surgical management of conditions of the gastrointestingal tract (Oesophagus, stomach, small bowel and colon. Gallstones and pancreas) and of abdominal hernias.
In my private surgical practice I mainly specialise in the surgical treatment of gallstone disease (gallbladder surgery), gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD in the UK or GERD in the US), hiatus hernia (often associated with GORD) and abdominal wall hernia (inguinal, umbilical, epigastric etc).
